"মুরগি ও গরুর মোট সংখ্যা 48টি [কারণ গরু ও মুরগির মাথা 48টি]। এখন, মুরগির পা ২টি করে ও গরু পা ৪টি করে। 
ধরি, মুরগির সংখ্যা x  টি। 
তাহলে গরুর সংখ্যা (48       –       x) টি
