Let, the speed of Stream = x
,so, downstream speed = 16+x and upstream speed = 16-x
ATQ,
16+x = 3(16-x)
Or, 16+x = 48 -3x
Or, 4x = 32
Or, x =8
So speed of stream = 8 and difference of speed of still water & stream = 16–8 = 8km/hr
