If karim's age is x, then Rahim's age will be 3x. 
According to question , 3x = 12 
                    ∴   x = 4 
after y years, Rahim's age will be doubled than Karim.

∴ 12 + y = 2 (4 + y)

\Rightarrow y = 4 a t t h e t i m e, R a h i m' s a g e = 3 x + y = 3 \times 4 + 4 = 16
