রিখটার মাপনী (Richter scale) কোন ভূমিকম্পের প্রাবল্যকে সংখ্যা দিয়ে প্রকাশ করে। এটি একটি ১০-ভিত্তির লগারিদমীয় পরিমাপ। অর্থাৎ এই পরিমাপে যেকোনো সংখ্যার ভূমিকম্প পূর্ববর্তী সংখ্যার চাইতে ১০ গুন শক্তিশালী। যেমন, ৩ মাত্রার ভূমিকম্পের চেয়ে ৪ মাত্রা ভূমিকম্প ১০ গুন বেশি শক্তিশালী।
