কোনো simple sentence এ দুটি main verb ব্যবহার করা যায় না। তাই একটি verb - এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয় অথবা verb টি পূর্বে to বসাতে হয়। উল্লেখ্য, উদ্দেশ্য বোঝাতে verb টির পূর্বে to বসাতে হয়। অর্থাৎ infinitive ব্যবহার করা হয়। উপরিক্ত sentence - এ কোনো উদ্দেশ্য বোঝায় না। এরুপ আরো কিছু verb হলো make , let, see প্রভৃতি । তাই option (ক) to float ভুল । option (খ) floating ঠিক। কারণ এখানে verb - এর সাথে ing যোগ করা হয়েছে।
