কোনো একটা দেশের মাটি, পানি, আবহাওয়া ও মানুষের সৃজনশীলতা মিলে কোনো পণ্য তৈরি হলে তাকে বলা হয় সেই দেশের ভৌগোলিক নির্দেশক (জিওগ্রাফিক্যাল ইনডিকেশন বা জিআই) পণ্য। শুধু বাংলাদেশেই উৎপাদিত হয় এমন ১১টি পণ্য আন্তর্জাতিক মেধাস্বত্ব কর্তৃপক্ষ থেকে ভৌগোলিক নির্দেশক পণ্য হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছে।
