জাতিসংঘের অর্থনৈতিক ও সামাজিক কাউন্সিল (ECOSOC) এর উন্নয়ন নীতি বিষয়ক কমিটি বা Committee For development policy (CDP) ২০১৮ সালে বাংলাদেশকে Least Developed Countries (LDC) থেকে উত্তোরণের জন্য প্রথম স্বীকৃতি দেয়। CDP এর হিসাব অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশ ২০২৪ সালে LDC থেকে পুরোপুরি বের হয়ে যাবার কথা ছিল। কিন্তু করোনার কারণে | ২০২৪ সালের পরিবর্তে ২০২৬ সালে বাংলাদেশ LDC থেকে বের হয়ে মধ্যম আয়ের দেশে পরিণত হবে। উল্লেখ্য বাংলাদেশ ১৯৭৫ সালে LDC দেশের তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়।
