Shakib is a student of class 8. His family lives in a remote village in Rajshahi. He goes to a private high school about 4 kilometres from his house. Shakib's family is very small and happy. It has only three members. They are his father, mother and Shakib himself.
Shakib's father is a farmer and his mother is a health assistant. Both of them are literate. They are very careful about food and nutrition. Shakib's mother has got training on food and hygiene. She got it from an NGO. So she always makes healthy and delicious food for the family. They get fresh milk from their cow every day. They have an arsenic free tube well. They use tubewell water for drinking, cooking, washing and cleaning. Shakib's mother always keeps their house and yard clean, neat and tidy. Shakib and his father also weed out the grass and wild plant that grow around their house. So no mosquitoes or harmful insects are seen in their house.
Everybody in Shakib's family maintains their personal hygiene and they are always free from diarrhoea and other transmitted diseases.
