c = 1.75 +0.40x

For equal price per pound of beef and chicken we can write,

2.35 +0.25x = 1.75 +0.40x

 0.40x-0.25x= 2.35 1.75  0.15x = 0.60  x= 0.600.15 = 4

x weeks after July 1 during last summer

b=2.35+ (0.25 × 4) = 3.35  c = 1.75+ (0.40 × 4) = 3.35 answer: 3.35$
