প্রশ্ন: Identify the imperative sentence.

যে Sentence দ্বারা আদেশ, উপদেশ, অনুরোধ, নিষেধ ইত্যাদি বোঝায় তাকে Imprerative Sentence বলে। উপরিউক্ত ৪ টি Sentence - এ (ক) - তে ' I shall go to college. অর্থ্যাৎ 'আমি কলেজে যাব' - এর মাধ্যমে আদেশ, উপদেশ, অনুরোধ বা নিষেধ কোনো কিছু বোঝাচ্ছে না, বরং এখানে অনুজ্ঞা বা ইচ্ছা বোঝাচ্ছে। (খ) - তে 'Matin is singing a song ' অর্থাৎ 'মতিন গান গাচ্ছে' - এ Sentence - এর মাধ্যমেও আদেশ , উপদেশ অনুরোধ কোনো কিছুুই বোঝাচ্ছে না এবং এটি দ্বারা কোনো কিছুর বর্ণনা বোঝাচ্ছে। সুতরাং এটি ' Imperative sentence নয়। (গ) - তে ' Stand up' অর্থাৎ উঠে দাঁড়াও বা দাঁড়ান দ্বারা পরিষ্কারভাবে আদেশ বোঝাচ্ছে। সুতরাং নিঃসন্দেহে এটি Imperative sentence . (ঘ) - তে it has been raining since morning ' অর্থাৎ সকাল থেকে সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে - Sentence টিও Assertive বা বর্ণনামূলক।
