মধ্যযুগের শেষ কবি ভারতচন্দ্র রায়গুণাকর ১৭৬০ সালে মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। তিনি ১৭১২ খ্রিস্টাব্দে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের হাওড়া জেলার পাণ্ডুয়া গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তার কবি প্রতিভার শ্রেষ্ঠ নিদর্শন 'অন্নদামঙ্গল' কাব্য। বাংলা সাহিত্যের অমর চরিত্র ঈশ্বরী পাটনীর করা 'আমার সন্তান যেন থাকে দুধে ভাতে' উক্তিটি দ্বারা তার কবি প্রতিভার প্রমাণ পাওয়া যায়।
