Answer :

x number of person were supposed to travel

$∴$ Per head cost = $\frac{5500}{x}$ taka

But, due to absence, new per head cost will be $\frac{5500}{x - 5}$ taka

According to question,

$\frac{5500}{x} \times 2 = \frac{5500}{x - 5} = \frac{2}{x} = \frac{1}{x - 5} [D i v i d i n g b o t h s i d e s b y 5500] = 2 x - 10 = x = 2 x - x = 10 ∴ x = 10 ∴ N u m b e r o f p e r s o n w h o w e r e a v a i l e d t h e s e r v i c e = 10 - 5 = 5$
