Preposition for an agent:

যে preposition কোনো কাজ ও কাজ সম্পাদনকারীর মধ্যে সম্পর্ক নির্দেশ করে তাকে preposition for agent বলে ।

The preposition used to indicate a relation on the basis of a cause between a work and its doer is called preposition for an agent.

Examples:

• I like to go there with you.
• She likes to read the books written by Tagore.

Preposition for an Agent বলতে সেইসব প্রিপজিশন বোঝায় যা বাক্যের কাজটির সম্পাদনকারী (Agent) এবং কাজটির মধ্যে সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করে। সাধারণত প্যাসিভ ভয়েস (Passive Voice) বা কোনো মাধ্যম বোঝাতে এই প্রিপজিশনগুলো ব্যবহৃত হয়।

এ ক্ষেত্রে মূলত দুটি প্রিপজিশন সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়: By এবং With।

১. By-এর ব্যবহার (ব্যক্তি বা কর্তার ক্ষেত্রে):

যখন কোনো কাজ কোনো ব্যক্তি বা প্রাণীর মাধ্যমে সম্পন্ন হয়, তখন সেই কর্তার আগে 'By' বসে। এটি মূলত 'কার দ্বারা' প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।

• Example: The letter was written by Armin. (চিঠিটি আরমিন লিখেছে।)

• Example: The tiger was killed by the hunter.

• Example: This book was published by Satt Academy.

২. With-এর ব্যবহার (যন্ত্র বা উপকরণের ক্ষেত্রে):

যখন কোনো কাজ কোনো বস্তু, যন্ত্র বা হাতিয়ারের মাধ্যমে করা হয়, তখন সেই উপকরণের আগে 'With' বসে। এটি মূলত 'কী দিয়ে' প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।

• Example: He killed the snake with a stick. (সে একটি লাঠি দিয়ে সাপটি মারল।)

• Example: I am writing with a black pen.

• Example: She cut the apple with a knife.

• Via: কোনো পথ বা রুটের মাধ্যম বোঝালে।

  • Example: We went to Rajshahi via Ishwardi.
