The Caretaker Government of Bangladesh was a form of government in which Bangladesh used to be ruled by a selected government for an interim period during the transition from one elected government to another, after the completion of tenure of the former, during the period between 1996 and 2008.
The outgoing elected government used to hand over its power to the nonelected nonpartisan caretaker government (CTG).
শেষ মুঘল সম্রাট ছিলেন দ্বিতীয় বাহাদুর শাহ। ১৮৫৭ সালের সিপাহি বিদ্রোহের পর ১৮৫৮ খ্রিস্টাব্দে তাঁকে রেঙ্গুনে (বর্তমান ইয়াঙ্গুনে) নির্বাসন দেওয়া হয়। ১৮৬২ সালে তিনি রেঙ্গুনে নির্বাসিত অবস্থায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। রেঙ্গুনেই তাঁকে সমাহিত করা হয়।
