So, the answer to the population problem lies in development. If their prosperity can be increased, people will begin to have fewer children. This has already happened in most of Europe, and is happening at the moment in countries such as South Korea and Taiwan. If the rich nations want this to happen, they must cancel the huge debts that are crippling many developing countries.
