যথন মাত্র দুটি ব্যক্তি , বস্তু ইত্যাদির মধ্যে তুলনা বুঝাতে Comparative degree বুঝাতে হয় তখন বাক্যের গঠন হয় NP1 + be + adj + (comparative) + than NP2. যেমন: Beauty is stronger than Mili.
সেক্ষেত্রে ঐ বাক্যের Positive করতে নিচের নিয়ম অনুসারে করতে হয়: NP2 + be + not + so + adj + as + NP1
Mili is not so strong as beauty.
Transformation-অর্থ রূপান্তর। তাহলে Sentence বা বাক্যের রূপের পরিবর্তনই হচ্ছে Transformation of Sentence। এক্ষেত্রে বাক্যের অর্থের ভাব অপরিবর্তিত থাকবে কিন্তু রূপের পরিবর্তন ঘটবে। বিভিন্ন প্রকার বাক্যের Transformation হয়ে থাকে। যেমন- Affirmative, Assertive, Interrogative, Exclamatory, Simple, Complex, Compound, Positive, Comparative এবং Superlative ইত্যাদি। Transformation of Sentence সর্বদা কিছু সুনির্দিষ্ট নিয়ম মেনে চলে। নিচে তা বিস্তারিতভাবে আলোচনা করা হলো।
