What type of pronoun the word “Such”is?

Demonstrative Pronoun: যেসব pronoun কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর পরিবর্তে বসে সেই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে নির্দেশ করে, তাদেরকে Demonstrative Pronoun বলে । যেমন-this, that, those, these, it, such a demonstrative pronoun.

  • Example (Adjective): This pen is fine.

দুটি বিষয়ের মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় Noun-এর পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়াতে এগুলো বসে। এটি চাকরি পরীক্ষায় সবচেয়ে বেশি আসে।

• Singular Noun-এর পরিবর্তে: 'That of' বসে।

  • Incorrect: The rice of Dinajpur is better than Rajshahi.

  • Correct: The rice of Dinajpur is better than that of Rajshahi. (এখানে 'that' মানে 'the rice')

• Plural Noun-এর পরিবর্তে: 'Those of' বসে।

  • Incorrect: The streets of Dhaka are wider than Sylhet.

  • Correct: The streets of Dhaka are wider than those of Sylhet. (এখানে 'those' মানে 'the streets')

Demonstrative Pronoun হিসেবে অনেক সময় One (Singular) এবং Ones (Plural) ব্যবহৃত হয়।
