Who is English Epic Poet?

ইংরেজি সাহিত্য (English Literature) বলতে মূলত ইংরেজি ভাষায় রচিত সাহিত্যকর্মকে বোঝায়, যা যুক্তরাজ্য (ব্রিটেন) ছাড়াও আয়ারল্যান্ড, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এবং উত্তর-ঔপনিবেশিক বিশ্বের লেখকদের দ্বারা লিখিত। এটি ৫ শতাব্দীর বেশি সময় ধরে বিকশিত সাহিত্য, যা কবিতা, নাটক ও উপন্যাসের মাধ্যমে মানুষের অনুভূতি, সংস্কৃতি ও ইতিহাস ফুটিয়ে তোলে। ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের খ্যাতিমান সাহিত্যিক যেমন- Chaucer, Shakespeare, Pope, Swift, Milton, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats, Shelley, Dickens, Eliot প্রমুখের সাহিত্যকর্মসমূহ পরীক্ষার জন্য খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। সেই সাথে পুরস্কার বিজয়ী আধুনিক লেখকবৃন্দের সাহিত্যকর্মের ওপরও ব্যাপক প্রস্তুতি গ্রহণ করা একান্ত জরুরি।
