Who – Refers to a person (the noun/pronoun/subject which does the action)

Whom – Refers to the object (the noun or pronoun that receives the action)

Whose – Used to show possession of something or someone

That – Used in a defining clause that refers to a person, animal or thing

Which – Used in a non-defining clause that refers to a person, animal or thing

Relative Pronoun: যেসব Pronoun noun বা Pronoun-কে নির্দেশপূর্বক দুটি Clause বা বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে,তাদেরকে Relative Pronoun বলে।Relative pronoun, relative clause- এর শুরুতে বসে। Who,which,whom,whose that প্রভৃতি relative Pronoun।

Those who are honest go to heaven.

The man whom you saw is my friend.

যে Pronoun তার আগের কোনো Noun বা Pronoun-কে নির্দেশ করে এবং দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে, তাকে Relative Pronoun বলে।

উদাহরণ: Who, Whom, Whose, Which, That, What.

১. Relative Pronoun-এর সঠিক ব্যবহার:

Pronoun	যার পরিবর্তে বসে	উদাহরণ (Satt Academy আদলে)
Who	ব্যক্তি (Subject হিসেবে)	The man who came here is my brother.
Whom	ব্যক্তি (Object হিসেবে)	The boy whom you saw is a student.
Whose	ব্যক্তির মালিকানা বোঝাতে	This is the boy whose pen is lost.
Which	বস্তু বা ইতর প্রাণীর ক্ষেত্রে	This is the pen which I wanted.
That	ব্যক্তি/বস্তু উভয়ের ক্ষেত্রে	I know the house that he lives in.

২. Antecedent (অ্যান্টিসিডেন্ট) এর নিয়ম:

Relative Pronoun-এর ঠিক আগে যে Noun বা Pronoun বসে, তাকে Antecedent বলে। বাক্যের Verb-টি সবসময় এই Antecedent অনুযায়ী বসে। এটি পরীক্ষায় সবচেয়ে বেশি আসে।

Example: It is I who am (is নয়) to blame.
Example: It is they who are (is নয়) responsible.

৩. Who বনাম Whom চেনার শর্টকাট টেকনিক:

পরীক্ষায় Who এবং Whom নিয়ে কনফিউশন হলে নিচের টেকনিকটি ফলো করুন:

যদি গ্যাপের পর সরাসরি Verb থাকে, তবে Who বসবে।
যদি গ্যাপের পর Noun বা Pronoun (Subject) থাকে, তবে Whom বসবে।
- Example: I know the girl who won the prize. (Verb-এর আগে Who)
- Example: The man whom I met is very kind. (Subject-এর আগে Whom)

৪. 'That' এর বিশেষ ব্যবহার:

কিছু নির্দিষ্ট শব্দের পর (যেমন: All, Only, None, Much, Superlative degree) Relative Pronoun হিসেবে 'Which' না বসে 'That' বসে।

Example: All that glitters is not gold.
Example: This is the best book that I have ever read.
