Akash bought two varieties of rice, costing Tk. 50/kg each, and Tk. 60/kg each, and mixed them in some ratio. Then he sold the mixture at Tk. 70/kg. making a profit of 20%. What was the ratio of the mixture?

<p>Let, he bought x kg at 50/kg rate</p> <p>y kg at 60/kg rate</p> <p>So, the cost price = 50x + 60y</p> <p>and sell price = 70 ( x + y)</p> <p>Now, the profit was 20%</p> <p>if cost price is 100 selling is 120 tk</p> <p>if cost price (50x + 60y) selling is 120( 50x + 60y)/100 </p> <p>120(50x + 60y)/100 = 70(x + y)</p> <p>60x + 72y = 70x + 70y</p> <p>2y = 10x</p> <p>5x = y</p> <p>x/y = 1/5</p> <p>x : y = 1 : 5</p>
