ভাষা আন্দোলনভিত্তিক চলচ্চিত্র 'জীবন থেকে নেওয়া' (১৯৭০) - এর পরিচালক বিশিষ্ট কথাশিল্পী ও চলচ্চিত্র পরিচালক জহির রায়হান। তার রচিত আরো কয়েকটি চলচ্চিত্র হলো - কখনো আসেনি, সোনার কাজল, কাঁচের দেয়াল, বাহানা ,বেহুলা, সঙ্গম, আনোয়ারা । 'সঙ্গম' (১৯৭০) চলচ্চিত্রটি বাংলাদেশের প্রথম রঙিন চলচ্চিত্র।
