He joined African National Congress in 1944, and was sentenced to prison in 1962 for his position against the ruling government. He spent the most part of his imprisoned life at Robben Island Prison. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993, and became the President in 1994. He worked for achieving human rights and a better future for all. This great man was born in 1918, and died of lung illness in 2013.
