Democracy and autocracy are two contrasting forms of governance. In contrast, autocracy concentrates power in the hands of a single ruler or a small group, often limiting personal freedoms and suppressing dissent to maintain control. While democracy promotes active citizen involvement and accountability, autocracy emphasizes obedience and centralized authority.
