Prepositions of time মূলত ব্যবহার করা হয় কোন কিছুর সময় বোঝাতে অথবা কেউ কিছু কখন করবে সেটা বোঝাতে। এ ধরনের কিছু Preposition হলো: At, on, in, while, during etc.

Prepositions of Time হলো সেইসব শব্দ যা কোনো কাজ কখন ঘটে, কতক্ষণ ধরে চলে বা কখন শেষ হয় তা নির্দেশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। ইংরেজিতে সময় বোঝাতে মূলত At, In এবং On—এই তিনটি প্রিপজিশন সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়।

খ) In-এর ব্যবহার:

• I will finish my Masters in 2027.

• Flowers bloom in spring.

• She likes to read in the morning. (ব্যতিক্রম: In the morning/afternoon/evening, কিন্তু At night হয়)।

গ) On-এর ব্যবহার:

• I have a meeting on Friday.

• My birthday is on October 25th.

• What are you doing on New Year's Day?

৩. অন্যান্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ Prepositions of Time:

• During (কোনো সময়ের মধ্যে): I fell asleep during the film.

• For (সময়কাল বা সময় ধরে): I have been waiting for two hours.

• Since (নির্দিষ্ট সময় থেকে শুরু হয়ে এখন পর্যন্ত): He has lived here since 2015.

• Until / Till (পর্যন্ত): Wait here until I come back.

• By (কোনো নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে বা তার আগে): You must finish the work by 5 PM.

• Before (পূর্বে): Brush your teeth before you go to bed.

• After (পরে): We will play after school.
