How did the lion see his own reflection?

In the passage, the mentioned animals are a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, a vulture, a hyena and a snake.

According to the snake, one's appearance doesn't matter if one is wise.

After looking at his old mane, the lion became angry thinking that the unruly mane did not fit him as he was the king of the forest.

The other animals of the forest like zebra, giraffe, vulture, etc. inspired the lion to for a new hairstyle, but the snake suggested the lion to be wise ignoring the looks and appearance.
