The Return of a Freedom Fighter

Once a beggar came to our house. He wore dirty dress. He was physically weak and could not speak clearly. He is about to fall down. He told me that he did not eat for all day long and so he couldn't move any more. Hearing this my mother felt pity for him. She gave him some food. He ate the food with full content. Then he said nothing and went out of our house. But he didn't go away. He looked around our house with great curiocity. There was an abnormality on his eyes. It seemed there was a great thought in his mind about our housé. He sat under a tree for some time. Then I approached to him and asked him, "Where have you come from?" He said nothing. I again asked him the same question. Then he said, "I don't know. I only wander from place to place." I asked him, "Don't you have any near or dear ones?" "I don't know about my family. I only know that I joined freedom fighting," he said. Then my curiocity about him arose because one of my uncles went to freedom fighting and didn't return home. I asked him what happened when he joined the freedom fighting. He said that he was caught by the Pak Army. He was brutally tortured. Then he lost his sense. He couldn't say anything more than that. He couldn't remember anything about him. Since then he had been wandering from place to place and surviving at the mercy of others. My grandmother was hearing all these from the other side of the tree. She rushed to the man and gazed at him in amazement. She observed his eyes, nose, face very carefully. The face of the man seemed to known to my grandmother. "What's your name?" asked my grandmother. "Hashem," said he. "What's your father's name?" my grandmother again asked him. He said, "Rahmat Ali Khan." Hearing this my grandmother burst into tears. She could realize that the beggar is none but her lost son who had joined the freedom fighting 40 years back.
