Dengue fever is a disease caused by dengue virus. This virus is spread by Aedes mosquitoes. If an infected mosquito bites a man, he gets dengue fever. Symptoms begin three to fourteen days after infection. Symptoms are high fever, muscle and joint pain, vomiting, bleeding and skin rash. In few cases symptoms may be critical which may cause death. There is no specific treatment of dengue fever. Doctors suggest paracetamol to reduce fever and pain. Proper caring and rest are also important. Aedes mosquitoes lay egges in standing water in small containers. These are pots, bowls, cups, old tires, vases, etc. So we should throw away standing water from these containers. We should also keep our environment neat and clean. We should use mosquito net while sleeping. We have to spray pesticides around our house. These preventive measures can keep us free from dengue fever.
