Suppose, you are Abid/Abida and know that English is an international language. It is a foreign language also to the people of Bangladesh. So, students as well as the common people face problems in learning this language. Yet, it is very essential for us. Now, write a dialogue between you and your teacher about how to learn English well.

Abid : Good morning, teacher.

Teacher : Good morning. What is it, Abid?

Abid : Sir, I know that English is an international language, and it is very essential for us. But it is a foreign language to the people of Bangladesh. So, students as well as the common people face problems in learning this language. Please, tell me how I can learn it well.

Teacher : Well, there are certain ways which will help you learn English effectively.

Abid : Would you please tell me in detail, sir?

Teacher : Of course. To improve your English, you have to improve your four skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. Moreover, you have to study the rules of grammar.

Abid : Yes, sir. Then?

Teacher : You have to read English newspapers and story books and listen to English news so that you can learn necessary words, terms and expressions used in that language. If you don't know the meaning of any word, you must look it up in the dictionary and write it down in your diary. Then you must check them every day or whenever you get time.

Abid : Alright, sir.

Teacher : Then you must practice it. The more you practice, the more you will be fluent in speaking it.

Abid : But I feel shy and hesitated whenever I try to speak with others in English.

Teacher : For this, you have to practice it by speaking to yourself first. Gradually, you will get used to it. Then you will be able to practice it with your friends, classmates and teachers

Abid : Thank you, sir. I think I will be able to learn English effectively if I follow your suggestions properly.

Teacher : I hope so.
