One of her friends did not turn up and Susan decided to rework her gift hampers such that each of the 12 friends who turned up got $13 worth gift certificates. How many gift hampers did not contain $5 gift certificates in the new configuration?

প্রশ্নে বলা হচ্ছে যে, এক ব্যক্তি Interest এবং Wages থেকে 5,000 টাকা আয় করেছেন। যদি তিনি তার বিনিয়োগ দ্বিগুণ করেন এবং Wages যদি 50% বৃদ্ধি পায়, তবে তাঁর আয় দাঁড়ায় 8,000 টাকা। প্রশ্ন হল আলাদাভাবে Interest এবং Wages থেকে তার প্রকৃত আর কত ছিলো?

Let, interest x Tk.

Wages (5.000- x) Tk. 

According to question

$$\begin{gathered} 2x+1.5(5,000-x)= 8,000 \\ \Rightarrow 2x+7,500-1.5x = 8,000 \\ \Rightarrow 0.5x = 8,000-7,500 \\ \Rightarrow 0.5x = 500 \\ \Rightarrow x= \frac{500}{0.5} \\ \therefore x=1,000 tk \end{gathered}$$

Interest 1,000 Tk.

Wages = 5,000-1,000= 4,000 Tk.

ans. The incomes from Interest and wages be Tk. 1,000 and Tk. 4,000 respectively.

Total cost of picnic was estimated to be y taka. 

$\therefore Cost per student was \frac{y}{m} taka,$

As z students withdrew their names, actual number of students who wanted to go is (m-z).

$\therefore$ Amount of money will have to be paid by remaining students $=\left(\frac{y}{m-z}\right)$ Taka. 

So, each of the remaining students have to pay more= $\frac{y}{m-z}-\frac{y}{m}=\frac{my-y\left(m-z\right)}{m\left(m-z\right)}=\frac{yz}{m\left(m-z\right)}TK$

More $\frac{yz}{m\left(m-z\right)}$ taka would pay each of the remaining students. (Ans)

$$\begin{gathered} \therefore Per head amounts= TK. \frac{3000}{x-10} \\ According to the question \\ \frac{3000}{x-10}-\frac{3000}{x}=10 \\ \Rightarrow \frac{3000x-3000x+3000}{\left(x-10\right)x} \\ \Rightarrow \frac{30000}{x^2-10x}=10 \\ \Rightarrow 10x^2-100x=30,000 \\ \Rightarrow 10x^2-100x-30,000=0 \\ \Rightarrow x^2-10x-30,000=0 \\ \Rightarrow x\left(x-60\right)+50x-3000=0 \\ \Rightarrow x\left(x-60\right)+50\left(x-60\right) \\ \Rightarrow \left(x+50\right)\left(x-60\right)=0 \\ \Rightarrow x-60=0 \\ \therefore x=60 \end{gathered}$$
