What did the giant consider himself?

When the children saw the giant, they became frightened. So, they all ran away.

The children saw the giant putting the little boy gently up into the tree and the boy kissing the giant. Thus, they realized that the giant had become good.

When the children ran away, the garden became lifeless with winter again.

When the giant put the little boy up into the tree, the tree at once broke into blossom, and the birds came and sang on it. The little boy flung his arms around the giant's neck and kissed him.

When the giant drove the children away from the garden, the spring too left that place. But when the children crept into the garden, there was spring again. The giant then realized his fault. So, I think the giant did the right thing by knocking the wall down.

The little boy did not run away with others, because his eyes were full of tears and so he could not see the giant coming.
