What made Rosamond finally decide to buy the purple jar?

Ameen wants to go to war because he feels it is his duty to fight for his people. Like his late father, he is brave and loves challenges such as bullfighting, cockfighting, and boat racing. So fighting excites him. He is determined and stubborn, and once he decides on something, nothing can stop him.

The milliner's shop looked very beautiful. The windows of the shop were decorated with ribbons, lace and festoons of artificial flowers.

I think, Rosamond was too fascinated to check the purple jar before buying. She was so blinded by the excitement of purchasing the jar that she didn't even look inside it before purchasing.
