Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Externally, the poet knew the owner of the wood and also knew that he lived in the nearby village. So he did not feel any danger to stop there. But internally, stopping by the woods means the desire to stop in the midst of our busy life to enjoy a moment of beauty. (বাহ্যিকভাবে, বক্তা বনের মালিককে চিনতেন এবং আরও জানতেন যে তিনি নিকটস্থ গ্রামে থাকেন। তাই সেখানে দাঁড়াতে তিনি বিপদ অনুভব করেন নি। কিন্তু অন্তর্নিহিতভাবে, বনের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর অর্থ আমাদের ব্যস্ত জীবনের মাঝে এক মুহূর্তের সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে একটু থামার বাসনা।)
