July Revolution

The July Revolution was a student protest in Bangladesh. It caused the fall of the government in August 2024. The protest started in June because students did not like the 30% job quota for freedom fighters' children. Students had protested about this in 2013 and 2018 too. In July 2024, they blocked roads and stopped going to classes. On July 15, armed people attacked the students and hurt many. The protests became violent, with fights and deaths. The government tried to stop it by setting a curfew from July 20. But the students did not leave. They wanted the government to resign. On August 3, they gave a one-point demand: the Prime Minister must step down. Finally, on August 5, the then Prime Minister resigned and left the country.
