আন্তর্জাতিক সাক্ষরতা দিবস হলো জাতিসংঘ শিক্ষা, বিজ্ঞান ও সংস্কৃতি সংস্থা বা ইউনেস্কো-ঘোষিত একটি আন্তর্জাতিক দিবস। ১৯৬৬ সালের ২৬ অক্টোবর ইউনেস্কোর সাধারণ সম্মেলনের ১৪তম অধিবেশনে ৮ সেপ্টেম্বর তারিখকে “আন্তর্জাতিক সাক্ষরতা দিবস” হিসেবে ঘোষণা করা হয়
