Once, a hungry fox was searching for food in the forest. After a while, he came to a vineyard. He was very tempted at the sight of the ripe grapes. The grapes were hanging very high. He wished to have a delicious meal of the ripe grapes. He could not resist his temptation to have the taste of the ripe grapes. So he jumped and jumped to reach the grapes. But the bunches of the ripe grapes were too high for the fox to reach. The fox tried again and again, but failed each time. The poor fox became very tired as he repeatedly and ceaselessly jumped to reach the bunches of the ripe grapes. He took some rest and then tried his best again but in vain. At last, he could understand that there was no hope of getting the grapes. So, he went away with a broken hearted. He consoled himself by murmuring, "The grapes are sour. I do not wish to eat them."

Mugdho began his work at 4 pm, handing out water bottles and biscuits to the tired and thirsty protestors. At around 5 pm, while he was resting by the road at Azampur intersection in Uttara, he was shot by an unknown attacker. The bullet hit him in the forehead. Mugdho was quickly taken to hospital by people, but he was already dead when they arrived there. Snigdho, his twin brother, was the first in the family to hear the sad news and see his brother's lifeless body. The rest of the family received the news the next morning. Krishan lived with his family in a small town. One afternoon, he came home from the playground with a high fever. That night, his fever went up to 104°F. His parents quickly took him to the hospital. Sadly, Krishan tested positive for dengue. The doctor checked his reports and said, "You don't need to admit him. You can take care of him at home." The doctor gave advice on how to help Krishan recover and stay safe from dengue. At home, Krishan's mother made him healthy food and made sure he drank plenty of fluids like coconut water and juice. For his fever and pain, Krishan took Paracetamol. The doctor also told his mother to sponge Krishan's body with cool water to bring his fever down. To stop the disease from spreading, they cleaned their home and surroundings. They made sure no water was left standing. They also used mosquito nets while sleeping and mosquito repellents when going outside. Krishan wore long sleeves, pants, socks, and shoes to protect himself. After a few days, Krishan got better, and no one else in the family got sick. They still follow the doctor's advice.

There lived a farmer in a village. He had a wonderful goose. The goose laid a gold egg every day. The farmer sold the egg and began to change his poor condition. But the farmer was very greedy. He thought that there were many eggs in the belly of the goose. He wanted to have all the eggs at a time and become rich overnight. One day, he hit upon a plan that he would kill the goose and get all the eggs of gold from its belly. He told his wife about his plan. His wife was wise and not greedy. She said to her husband, "Don't be greedy. Be happy with what we have." But the farmer did not listen to his wife. He killed the goose with a sharp knife. Then he cut open its belly. But alas! He found no eggs in it. Thus, the greedy farmer lost his useful goose.

There lived a woodcutter in a village. One day, he was cutting wood near a pond. Suddenly, his axe fell into the pond. The pond was very deep. The woodcutter did not know how to swim or dive. So, he was sitting there sadly. Then a wonderful thing happened. A beautiful fairy appeared before the woodcutter. She asked him in a sweet voice, "Why are you so sad? Why are you not cutting wood?" The woodcutter replied sorrowfully, "My axe has fallen into the pond. I can't cut wood now." The fairy then showed him an axe made of silver and asked him if it was his axe. The woodcutter saw the axe and said, "It's not my axe." The fairy showed him another axe made of gold and asked, "Is this the axe that you lost?" The woodcutter said, "No, it's not. My axe is made of iron. It was old." The fairy showed him the lost axe with a wooden handle. The woodcutter then said happily that it was his axe. The fairy became very pleased and gave him the gold and the silver axes too. Then the woodcutter became rich and began to live happily.

Once, a lion was sleeping in a forest. A mouse was playing nearby. It ran over the face of the lion by chance. It awoke the lion. At this, the lion grew very angry. It caught the mouse and said, "You little creature, how dare you disturb me! I'll kill you." The mouse got frightened and said, "Your Majesty, if you kill a little creature like me, it will not bring any credit for you. Please, excuse me for this time." The lion felt pity and let the mouse go. The mouse thanked the lion and said, "If I get chance, I'll help you." The lion laughed and said, "A little creature like you can never help a big creature like me." After a few days, the lion was caught in a hunter's net. It tried hard to be free, but failed. So, it began to roar helplessly. Hearing the roar of the lion, the mouse came quickly and said, "Sir, please wait. I'll help you." The mouse cut the net with its sharp teeth and set the lion free. The lion was very happy and said, "Thank you, little mouse. You have saved my life. Now I know even a small one can help a big one."

Once upon a time, there was an old farmer. He lived with his wife and three sons in a small village. The three sons always quarrelled with each other. Their parents said, "Stop! Don't quarrel! It's bad!" But they didn't listen to their parents. One day, the sons were quarrelling again and the old farmer heard them. He told them to bring three sticks and some ropes. The sons were surprised, yet they did so. The old farmer then tied the sticks together with the rope. Then he said to his sons, "Now, try and break this bundle of sticks." The three sons tried one after another, but couldn't break the bundle. Then the farmer untied the sticks and gave one stick to each of his sons. He told his sons to break the sticks. This time they all broke their sticks easily. Then the old farmer said to his sons, "You are like these sticks. When you are united, you are strong. But when you are alone, you are weak." The sons understood the lesson and promised not to quarrel again.
