<p style="margin-left:0px;">Let the slower pipe alone fill the tank in x min<br>Then, faster pipe will fill it in x/3 min<br><br>So, slower pipe in 1 minute can fill = 1/x part of the tank<br>and faster pipe in 1 minute can fill = 3/x part of the tank<br>again, together in 1 minute can fill = 1/36 part of the tank<br><br>As per question,<br>1/x + 3/x = 1/36<br>∴ x = 144 min (Ans:)</p>
