Tow workers A and B are engaged to do a work . A working alone takes 8 hours more to complete the job than if both worked together . If B worked along, he would need 4.5 hours more to complete the job than they both working together . What time would they take to do the work together ?

Let, A and B can do the work in x hours
So, they together 1 hour can do the work in 1/x portion. Again, In ( x + 8) hours A can do 1 portion
Si, In 1 hour can do 1/x + 8 portion
According to question,
1/x + 8 + 1/ 4.5 + x = 1/x
1/x + 8 + 1/ (9/2 + x) = 1/x
1/x + 8 + 2 / 9 + 2x = 1/x
( 9 + 2x + 2x + 16)/(x + 8) ( 9 + 2x) = 1/x
x 2 = 36
x = 6

সমস্যা সমাধানের নিয়ম: সময় ও কাজ বিষয়ক সমস্যায় দুই বা তিনটি ভিন্ন জাতীয় রাশি যুক্ত থাকে। ঐ গুলো হলঃ ক) সময়ের পরিমাণ খ) কাজের পরিমাণ গ) কাজ সম্পাদনকারীর সংখ্যা
নিয়ম: (I) কাজের পরিমাণ অপরিবর্তিত রেখে-
- কাজ সম্পাদনকারীর সংখ্যা কমালে কাজের সময় বাড়বে। এ ক্ষেত্রে গুণ করতে হয়।
- কাজ সম্পাদনকারীর সংখ্যা বাড়ালে কাজের সময় কমবে। এক্ষেত্রে ভাগ করতে হবে।
নিয়ম (II) কাজ সম্পাদনকারীর সংখ্যা অপরিবর্তিত রেখে-
- কাজের পরিমাণ কমালে সময়ের পরিমাণ কম হয়। এক্ষেত্রে ভাগ করতে হয়।
- কাজের পরিমাণ বাড়ালে সময়ের পরিমাণ বেশি হয়। এক্ষেত্রে গুণ করতে হয়।
