let, number of item each price 1.50 is=x

and number of item together 3 item price 3.50 = y

so, x+3y = 202…………………(1)

and

1.50x + 3.50y = 279

or, 1.50X + 3.50(202-x)/3 = 279

or, 4.50x + 707 - 3.50x = 837

or, x = 130
