বাংলা সাহিত্যের কিশোর কবি সুকান্ত ভট্টাচার্য ( ১৯২৬ - ১৯৪৭) জন্মগ্রহণ করেন কলকাতার কালিঘাটে। তার পৈতৃক নিবাস গোপালগঞ্জের কোটালিপাড়ায়। মাত্র ২১ বছর বয়সে যক্ষা রোগে তিনি মারা যায়। তার উল্লেখযোগ্য কাব্যগ্রন্থ - ছাড়পত্র, ঘুম নেই, পূর্বাভাস, অভিযান, হরতাল।
