Be verb এরপর যা কোনো কাজের নাম বুঝাবে
তা যদি ‘ing' যুক্ত Verb হয় তবে তাকে Gerund বলে। এগুলো মূলত Verb এর Complement. যেমনঃ Be verb 43 Reading, walking. waiting, running ইত্যাদি Complement বসতে পারে। যেমনঃ Hanjala's profession is teaching.
বাক্যে Teaching হলো Gerund.
বাক্যের অর্থঃ বই পড়া তার প্রিয় কাজ।
