শীর্ষ প্রবাসী জায় অর্জনকারী দেশগুলোর মধ্যে বাংলাদেশ অষ্টম হলেও গত বছর প্রবাসী আয়ে কোনো প্রবৃদ্ধি হয়নি বরং অনেক কমেছে। প্রবাসী জায়ের এই অধোগতি অব্যাহত থাকলে তা বাংলাদেশের অর্থনীতির জন্য একটি বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ দেখা দেবে। কারণ অর্থনীতিতে প্রবাসী আয়ের অবদান মোট জিডিপির ৬ শতাংশের মতো। প্রবাসী আয় কমে যাও পেশনে মূল কারণ হিসেবে বলা হচ্ছে, মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের তেল উৎপাদনকারী দেশগুলোতে তেলের দাম কমে যাওয়া। এটাই মূল কারণ হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে প্রবাসী আয়ের লক্ষ্যে মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের দেশগুলোর ওপর আমাদের নির্ভরতা কমাতে হবে। পাশাপাশি আমাদের বিকল্প জনশক্তির বাজার খুঁজতে হবে। প্রবাসী আয় কমে যাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে বাংলাদেশের শ্রমিকদের অদক্ষতাও একটি বড় কারণ। ফলে জনশক্তির নতুন বাজার খুঁজে বের করতে উদ্যোগী হওয়ার পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশ যৌ লক্ষ শ্রমিক পাঠানোর দিকেও গুরুত্ব দিতে হবে। আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারের চাহিদার দিকটি বিবেচনায় নিয়ে বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে সম শ্রমিক গড়ে তুলতে প্রয়োজনীয় প্রশিক্ষণের ব্যবস্থা করতে হবে।
(Translate into English)Though eighth among top remittance attaining countries Bangladesh did not make un progress in earning remittance last year, rather it has been declined. The continuous downfall earning remittancewill become a big challenge for the economy of Bangladesh. As near about 6 of the total GDP of Bangladesh economy comes from the expatriate earnings. It has been said th the reasons behind the falling of remittance earning is dropping the oil price in the oil producin countries of Middle-East. If it has happened, we have to reduce dependency on middle-Ea countries in order to keep the earning path to the highway. Besides we have to look for alternativ manpower markets. Inefficient labor is another big reason of tumbling expatriate earnings. Henc besides looking for new manpower destinations, we should give prior in sending efficient peop abroad. We should take all necessary measures to make people well and required trained considerin the international demand for labour.
