দ্বিতীয় প্রজন্মের কম্পিউটারের বৈশিষ্ট্য
(i) ট্রানজিস্টর এর ব্যবহার শুরু হয়;
(ii) ম্যাগনেটিক কোর মেমোরির ব্যবহার ও সহায়ক মেমোরি হিসেবে ম্যাগনেটিক ডিস্কের উদ্ভাবন;
(iii) উচ্চ গতিসম্পন্ন ও উন্নত মানের ইনপুট – আউটপুট ব্যবস্থার প্রচলন
(iv) মেশিন ভাষার পরিবর্তে উচ্চস্তরের ভাষার( যেমন-COBOL,FORTRAN,ALGOL ইত্যাদি )ব্যবহার;
(v) টেলিফোন লাইন ব্যবহার করে ডাটা প্রেরণের ব্যবস্থা;
(vi) অধিক নির্ভরযোগ্যতা;
(vii) বাস্তবিক ক্ষেত্রে কম্পিউটার ব্যবহারের শুরু।
