Distributive Pronoun: যেসব pronoun দুই বা ততোধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর প্রত্যেককে পৃথকভাবে বুঝায়, তাদেরকে distributive pronoun বলে। এই Pronoun গুলোকে Positive pronoun বলা যেতে পারে।যেমন- each, every, either, neither প্রভৃতি distributive pronoun.

যেসব Pronoun একজাতীয় একাধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর মধ্যে প্রত্যেককে আলাদাভাবে প্রকাশ করে, তাদের Distributive Pronoun বলে।

ক) Verb এবং Noun-এর রূপ: Distributive Pronoun-এর পর 'of' থাকলে তার পরবর্তী Noun বা Pronoun-টি Plural হয়, কিন্তু বাক্যের Verb-টি সবসময় Singular হয়।

• Example: Each of the students (Plural Noun) is (Singular Verb) attentive.

• Example: Either of the books serves my purpose.

খ) Pronoun এবং Possessive Case: Distributive Pronoun-এর পরিবর্তে যদি পরবর্তীতে কোনো Pronoun বা Possessive Case ব্যবহার করতে হয়, তবে সেটিও Singular (his/her) হতে হবে।

• Incorrect: Each of the girls has done their homework.

• Correct: Each of the girls has done her homework.

গ) দুইয়ের অধিক ব্যক্তির ক্ষেত্রে:

• দুইয়ের বেশি ব্যক্তির মধ্যে যেকোনো একজনকে বোঝাতে Either-এর পরিবর্তে Any বা Anyone বসে।

• দুইয়ের বেশি ব্যক্তির মধ্যে কেউই না বোঝাতে Neither-এর পরিবর্তে None বা No one বসে।

  • Example: Anyone of the five members can do it.

  • Example: None of the ten students passed.

৩. Pronoun বনাম Adjective চেনার উপায়:

• Distributive Pronoun: এদের পরে সাধারণত 'of' থাকে অথবা সরাসরি Verb বসে।

  • Example: Each of the boys gets a prize.

• Distributive Adjective: এদের ঠিক পরেই একটি Noun বসে।

  • Example: Each boy gets a prize.

৪. সঠিক প্রয়োগ (Correct vs Incorrect):

• Incorrect: Neither of the two men were strong.

• Correct: Neither of the two men was strong. (Rule: Verb সবসময় singular হবে)

• Incorrect: Each of the players have a uniform.

• Correct: Each of the players has a uniform.

• Incorrect: Either of the three girls will win.

• Correct: Any of the three girls will win. (Rule: দুইয়ের অধিক হলে Any বসে)
