Poverty Alleviation through Islamic Banking

Updated: 6 months ago
উত্তরঃ

Poverty alleviation remains the most important challenge before policy makers in the Islamic world that is characterized by high and rising poverty levels. The poverty levels are also associated with high inequality alongside low productivity.

The role of Islamic banking in the real sector development can be seen from the scheme developed in the Islamic bank financing, but in the real contributions donated by Islamic banks through his duties as a financial intermediary institutions. Viewed from the financing scheme that was developed, only Islamic banks to channel funding to the real sector. Business dynamics that occur in the real sector will be reflected directly in Islamic banking activities. In channeling financing, Islamic banks use the akad-akad which is always associated with the real sector and financial sector growth simply follow the growth of real sector.

Financing with akad murabaha, greetings, and can only be channeled ijara if there is a good or service (real sector) that are funded. Even with the covenant Musharaka financing/mudaraba, not only channeled to finance the real sector, but also made perfect correlation between the costs of capital with return on capital. This is obviously very different from a lot of conventional banks which are not disbursing credit to the real sector, namely to speculation in financial markets. Islamic banks are not based banking financial sector as conventional banks. Instead, Islamic banks are based banking real sector.

Therefore, Bank Shariah should take lessons from programs that have been made in the past. Programs that have succeeded can be taken advantage by the Bank of shariah by reducing the weaknesses that caused the end of the program. All stackholders need to be aware of development that is currently developing an economic system based on the values of the Islamic Shariah as an alternative to the system running right now. Prevailing economic system currently cannot solve the perceived problems of distribution are not well balanced and widen the gap between the rich and the poor. Thus, in a development program for the public welfare, have also examined the concepts of Islamic economy as an alternative solution of the prevailing economic system so far.

Bangladesh is recognized worldwide as one of the most vulnerable countries to the impacts of global warming and climate change. This is due to its unique geographic location, dominance of floodplains, low elevation from the sea, high population density, high levels of poverty, overwhelming dependence on nature, its resources and services. The country has a history of extreme climatic events claiming millions of lives and destroying past development gains.

Variability in rainfall pattern, combined with increased snow melt from the Himalayas, temperature extremes are resulting in crop damage and failure, preventing farmers and those dependent from meaningful earning opportunities. The climate change in Bangladesh creates insecurities for food, water, life, property, settlement, livelihood assets, and others. Climatic impacts reduce securities directly and indirectly.

Environmental degradation, degradation of land resources ultimately reduces food securities, health securities etc and at the same time increases conflicts over resources and livelihood persuasions. In a changing climate the pattern of impacts are eroding our assets, investment and future. This stands for families, communities and the state. Global warming and climate change threatens settlements and the number of people displaced from their land due to riverbank erosion, permanent inundation and sea level rise which are increasing rapidly every year. Resources and efforts of government and people are quickly drained addressing the impact of one event when another hazard strikes. Impacts of global warming and climate change have the potential to challenge our development efforts, human security and the future.

Sundarban is the biggest mangrove forest in the world. Sundarban is in South West part of Bangladesh, in the district of Khulna, Sathkhira and Bagerhat. India shares a bit of the forest with Bangladesh. The total area is about 10,000 square kilometers. Sundarban is a large block of littoral forests. The beauty lies in its unique natural surrounding. The Sundarbans are a part of the world's largest delta formed by the rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna. Thousands of meandering streams, creeks, rivers and estuaries have enhanced its charm.

The forest consist of ever green trees created in every tropical region of the world and saltish mudland situated in the tidal sea-coast areas are called 'Mangrove Forest. For miles and miles, the lofty treetops form an unbroken canopy, while nearer the ground, works of high and ebb-tide marked on the soil and tree trunks and the many varieties of the natural mangrove forest have much to offer to an inquisitive visitor.

In different places of Dhaka, Metro Rail, flyovers, elivated long and short roads are being constructed in the immediate time. Many flyovers already been completed like-Mohakhali Flyover, Khilgaon Flyover, Bijoy Shoroni-Tejgaon Flyover, Kuril Flyover, Gulistan-Jatrabari Flyover, Mirpur- Airport Road Flyover, Kalshi Flyover and Moghbazar-Mouchak Flyover. Government should build up over bridge on the middle point of the different important roads and also build up more alternative roads in Dhaka city. Good car parking system and hard rules against those people who keep their vehicles besides the road and other public place should be ensured by the government. Howkers who build up their business spot beside important places should be removed. All types of old or expired vehicles should be banned from Dhaka city and hard rules could be imposed against those driver and people who break up the traffic rules.

Aimless life is certainly a sin. Many people have no definite aim in life. They are like the travelers going a head without any destination. Such people lead an aimless life and what they do in life, is largely a matter of chance, determined by the circumstances in which they happen to be placed. Aimless people do not achieve any thing in life. They just live because they have to live. One should have a definite purpose of life. The people who want success in life, first of all, determine their target. They keep before them their circumstances, their virtuous, their qualities, their talents and their ability to work. They select some definite target of their life and remain successful.

Different people have different aims in life. Some aims at wealth, some at power, some at fame, some at business and some at education and knowledge. My aim is neither wealth nor fame. I want to become a doctor. It is a noble profession. In medical line, there is much more scope of service. One can serve the patients every where in the country. This is my personal choice. My parents have compelled me to select it. I wish to become a very successful doctor in future. So I am studying hard to achieve my target. I have keen interest in medical line, so I do not feel any trouble in studying at all. After obtaining the medical degree, I plan to work in rural areas where there is much shortage of doctors. My father is well off man and I do not have any financial problem. I do not have the lust of money. I will go to the rural areas and shall help the poor people. It would be best sort of service. This will give me extreme satisfaction and that is the aim of my life.

I know, my profession is very dignified and it will help me to get peace and satisfaction in life. It provides best chances of service. Sympathy to human being is the sympathy to ones own self.
