প্রতিষ্ঠান ‘আন্তর্জাতিক ন্যায়বিচার আদালত (আইসিজে) ১৯৪৫ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় এবং ১৯৪৬ সালে কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। এর সদর দপ্তর নেদারল্যান্ডের হেগ শহরে অবস্থিত। আইসিজে এর বিচারকের সংখ্যা ১৫ জন এবং বিচারকদের মেয়াদ ৯ বছর । আর সভাপতির মেয়াদকাল ৩ বছর।
