The outbreak of coronavirus in China has caused great concerns around the world including in Bangladesh. As the Wuhan virus cases have been detected in places as far as Australia and the US. those living in the neighborhood have reasons to be more concerned, given the frequent air travel that increase chances of spreading dangerous pathogens. A lot of Bangladeshis, especially businessmen, travel to China and the Chinese nationals visit Bangladesh on a regular basis. So it is essential to deal with this issue with seriousness. There should be proper surveillance at the airports and also other entry points. People need to be advised to remain alert about spread of coronavirus the way some other countries are facing it so far.

= চীনে করোনা ভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভব বাংলাদেশসহ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশে উদ্বিগ্নের সৃষ্টি করেছে। অস্ট্রেলিয়া ও আমেরিকার মতো দূরবর্তী স্থানগুলোতে এই উহান ভাইরাসের উপস্থিতি পাওয়ায় প্রতিবেশী দেশগুলোর অধিকতর উদ্বিগ্ন হবার মতো কারণ রয়েছে যেখানে বিমান ভ্রমণের মাধ্যমে এই বিপদজনক জীবাণু সংক্রামণের মারাত্মক ঝুঁকি রয়েছে। অনেক বাংলাদেশী বিশেষ করে ব্যবসায়ীরা চীনে ভ্রমণ করে এবং অনেক চীনের নাগরিকও প্রতিনিয়ত বাংলাদেশ ভ্রমণ করে থাকে। তাই গুরুত্বের সাথে বিষয়টির প্রতি দৃষ্টি দেয়া উচিৎ। এজন্য বিমান বন্দর ও অন্যান্য প্রবেশ পয়েন্টগুলো যথাযথ পর্যবেক্ষণ থাকতে হবে। জনগণকে করোনা ভাইরাসের বিস্তার সম্পর্কে অন্যান্য দেশের জনগণ কিভাবে মোকাবেলা করছে তা জানতে হবে।
