ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দামের বা মানের দুই বা ততোধিক বস্তুকে মিশ্রিত করলে মিশ্রণের গড় দাম বা গড় মান নির্ণয় এবং নির্দিষ্ট গড় দামে মিশ্রণের অনুপাত বের করার পদ্ধতিকে এলিগেশন বলা হয়।

এলিগেশনের মূল ধারণা

কম দামের বস্তু ও বেশি দামের বস্তুকে এমনভাবে মেশানো হয় যাতে নির্দিষ্ট গড় দাম পাওয়া যায়।

এলিগেশনের সূত্র

$Ratio = (Higher Price - Mean Price) : (Mean Price - Lower Price)$

উচ্চ দাম → গড় দাম → নিম্ন দাম

পার্থক্যের অনুপাতই মিশ্রণের অনুপাত।

উদাহরণ

৩০ টাকা কেজি ও ৫০ টাকা কেজি দামের চাল মিশিয়ে ৪০ টাকা কেজি দামের মিশ্রণ তৈরি করতে হবে। কী অনুপাতে মেশাতে হবে?

উচ্চ দাম = 50

গড় দাম = 40

নিম্ন দাম = 30

অনুপাত =

(50 - 40) : (40 - 30)

= 10 : 10

= 1 : 1

অতএব, চাল দুটি ১ : ১ অনুপাতে মেশাতে হবে।
