Demonstrative Pronoun: যেসব pronoun কোনো নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর পরিবর্তে বসে সেই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে নির্দেশ করে, তাদেরকে Demonstrative Pronoun বলে । যেমন-this, that, those, these, it, such a demonstrative pronoun.
যে Pronoun কোনো ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে সরাসরি নির্দেশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Demonstrative Pronoun বলে।
উদাহরণ: This, That, These, Those, Such, So, The same.

পরীক্ষায় শনাক্ত করতে দেয় এটি Pronoun নাকি Adjective। মনে রাখবেন:
যদি এদের পর সরাসরি Verb থাকে, তবে সেটি Pronoun।
যদি এদের পর সরাসরি Noun থাকে, তবে সেটি Demonstrative Adjective।
Example (Pronoun): This is a fine pen.
Example (Adjective): This pen is fine.
৩. তুলনার ক্ষেত্রে 'That of' এবং 'Those of'-এর ব্যবহার:
দুটি বিষয়ের মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় Noun-এর পুনরাবৃত্তি এড়াতে এগুলো বসে। এটি চাকরি পরীক্ষায় সবচেয়ে বেশি আসে।
Singular Noun-এর পরিবর্তে: 'That of' বসে।
Incorrect: The rice of Dinajpur is better than Rajshahi.
Correct: The rice of Dinajpur is better than that of Rajshahi. (এখানে 'that' মানে 'the rice')
Plural Noun-এর পরিবর্তে: 'Those of' বসে।
Incorrect: The streets of Dhaka are wider than Sylhet.
Correct: The streets of Dhaka are wider than those of Sylhet. (এখানে 'those' মানে 'the streets')
৪. 'Such' এবং 'So' এর ব্যবহার:
Such: একই ধরনের কোনো কিছু আগে উল্লেখ থাকলে তার পরিবর্তে বসে।
Example: He is a teacher and such he is respected.
So: সাধারণত Verb-এর পরে বসে আগের কোনো পূর্ণাঙ্গ ধারণাকে নির্দেশ করে।
Example: I think so.
৫. বিশেষ নিয়ম (One / Ones):
Demonstrative Pronoun হিসেবে অনেক সময় One (Singular) এবং Ones (Plural) ব্যবহৃত হয়।
I have two pens; which one do you want?
These mangoes are sour; I want some sweet ones.
