Phrase Preposition :
দুই বা ততোধিক Preposition এবং অন্য word মিলে যদি একক Preposition রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাকে Phrase Preposition বলে।
যেমনঃ by means of, in front of প্রভৃতি ।
Phrase Preposition হলো এমন একগুচ্ছ শব্দ (Group of words) যা একত্রে একটি একক প্রিপজিশন হিসেবে কাজ করে। এগুলো সাধারণত একটি সাধারণ প্রিপজিশন দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং অন্য একটি প্রিপজিশন দিয়ে শেষ হয়।
১. মূল বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ:
এটি দুই বা ততোধিক শব্দের সমষ্টি।
এটি বাক্যে একটি একক Simple Preposition-এর মতো অর্থ প্রদান করে।
এটি কোনো বিশেষ অবস্থা, কারণ বা উদ্দেশ্য প্রকাশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

৩. বাক্যে ব্যবহারের সঠিক নিয়ম:
ক) With a view to:
এই ফ্রেজটির পর সবসময় Verb-এর সাথে -ing যুক্ত হয়। এটি একটি সাধারণ গ্রামার মিস্টেক যা অনেক সময় পরীক্ষায় আসে।
Correct: I went to the library with a view to reading books.
Incorrect: I went to the library with a view to read books.
খ) In front of vs Before:
সাধারণত জড় বস্তুর সামনে বোঝাতে In front of এবং কোনো ব্যক্তির সামনে বা সময়ের ক্ষেত্রে Before ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Example: Sit in front of the TV.
Example: Stand before the judge.
