Adverb of Degree:
almost, much, nearly, quite, too, very, little, rather, more, enough, fairly, highly, slightly, somewhat, utterly.
Adverb of Degree হলো সেইসব শব্দ যা দিয়ে কোনো কাজের তীব্রতা, মাত্রা বা পরিমাণ বোঝানো হয়। এটি সাধারণত কোনো Adjective, Verb বা অন্য কোনো Adverb কতটা বা কী পরিমাণে (How much / To what extent) সক্রিয়, তা নির্দেশ করে।
১. মূল বৈশিষ্ট্যসমূহ:
এটি কোনো গুণের বা কাজের 'মাত্রা' প্রকাশ করে।
এটি সাধারণত 'কতটুকু' (How much) বা 'কী পরিমাণে' (To what extent) প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেয়।
এগুলো সাধারণত যে শব্দকে বিশেষায়িত করে, তার ঠিক আগেই বসে।

৩. বাক্যে ব্যবহারের উদাহরণ:
ক) Adjective-কে বিশেষায়িত করতে:
The tea is very hot. (চা-টি খুব গরম।)
She is extremely happy today. (সে আজ অত্যন্ত সুখী।)
খ) Verb-কে বিশেষায়িত করতে:
I almost forgot the meeting. (আমি মিটিংয়ের কথা প্রায় ভুলেই গিয়েছিলাম।)
I totally agree with you. (আমি তোমার সাথে পুরোপুরি একমত।)
গ) অন্য Adverb-কে বিশেষায়িত করতে:
He runs very fast. (সে খুব দ্রুত দৌড়ায়।)
She finished the work quite quickly.
৪. বিশেষ ব্যবহারের নিয়ম (Enough):
অন্যান্য Adverb of Degree সাধারণত শব্দের আগে বসলেও, Enough সবসময় Adjective বা Adverb-এর পরে বসে।
Incorrect: He is enough strong to lift it.
Correct: He is strong enough to lift it.
৫. Too বনাম Very:
Very: এটি একটি সাধারণ ইতিবাচক মাত্রা বোঝায়।
Example: The weather is very hot. (আবহাওয়া খুব গরম, তবে সহ্য করা যায়।)
Too: এটি নেতিবাচক বা প্রয়োজনের চেয়ে বেশি মাত্রা বোঝায়।
Example: The weather is too hot. (আবহাওয়া এতই গরম যে সহ্য করা যাচ্ছে না।)
